A Children's Place mission is to provide safe, healthy and happy childcare for children ages six weeks to five years of age without regard to race, religious affiliation or socio-economic status. In this environment, we shall: · nurture social, physical, cognitive and emotional development; · cultivate learning and creative expression; and · meet the needs of each individual child and his or her family.
The Center is non-profit and has been licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services since 1971. Open all year round. Closed for only (8) Holidays Hours of Operation are 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday A balanced nutritious breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are provided at NO COST to the family. Menus go home monthly. There is a Health Consultant on staff as a resource for the families. However, we do NOT administer medications. All teachers and support staff: · are background checked, finger printed and drug tested · are certified in Adult/Child and Infant CPR and Infant/Child First Aid · meet the continuous 30 hours of training in a two-year licensing period. All Head Teacher have degrees in Early Childhood Education. ACP take a comprehensive approach to early care and education. We ensure that our children receive the following early intervention evaluations while enrolled in our program: · Dental Screenings by Success By Six Mobile Dental Van · Vision Screenings by Chautauqua Blind Association · Denver Developmental Screenings by the Chautauqua County Department of Health
We provide a balance of activities: · child choice activities · teacher directed activities · large and small group interactions · indoor play - spacious gym · outdoor play - fenced in playground · art, music (Children’s Music Studio) · swim lessons at YMCA for children ages 4-5 years old (no cost to families). Our early care and education program is designed to ensure children with limited English proficiency are provided with equal access and opportunity to achieve curriculum goals. Three teachers are English-Spanish bilingual. ACP is a Universal Pre-Kindergarten site for the Jamestown Public School District. We currently have 32 children enrolled in the JPS/UPK program. We offer one AM class and one PM class for the 2009-2010 school year. A Children’s Place provides services through a contractual relationship with the Jamestown Public School District and has been for (11) years. The children enrolled in our UPK program are enrolled as students in JPS. A Children’s Place offers Wrap-Around care for those families with children enrolled in our JPS/UPK program (before and/or after UPK).
